I am not sure if my friend who works for Swansea is winding me up or not, as he knows I rate Sampaoli highly, but he is adamant that Sampaoli resigned the Chile job to take the Swansea one. I am not convinced myself but it would be a good choice in my opinion, he plays excellent football.

What players do Swansea need for next season?
The obvious one is striker cover for Gomis.

Definitely a striker is needed. If they manage to bring in Mitrovic from Anderlecht, they could have a very successful season.
Swansea currently are closing in on Castaignos from FC Twente and Tabanou(LB) from Saint-Etienne. Also there's a goalkeeper close to signing but I can't remember his name right now.
With these signings, Swansea could potentially claim a Europa League spot

I am told that Swansea are interested in Luuk de Jong of PSV Eindhoven to bolster their strikers. Personally I don't expect a deal to be possible in the summer as they are likely to sell Depay and so have no need of the money, but he is a target.
He has rebuilt his reputation this season following his disastrous loan to Newcastle and it is thought he would be keen to try once again to prove himself in England. The issue is mainly that PSV do not have many options in his position and their likely loss of Depay ridding them of any need to try and raise finances to buy.
