What are you expecting today ed?
Thanks!

{Ed001's Note - a striker and Sanchez is probably all that will get done now.}

Thanks ed. your thoughts on swansea's window?

{Ed001's Note - bit of a mess imo. Losing Siggurdsson and Llorente is a disaster, particularly Llorente. Goals are so difficult to come by that you can't afford to let a goalscorer go unless you have one already lined up to replace him.}

Any ideas on replacements for Gylfi? Any truth in the rumours of Bony, Chadli and Allen coming in? Personally I don't see Stoke selling Allen.

Jonathan Viera of Las Palmas has been linked and I think Swansea had an offer rejected for him. I haven't been able to keep up to date with Swansea transfer news lately as I'm away. It'll be tough to replace him though.

Bony being linked with a move back to Swansea. I would assume this would be if Llorente leaves but I can see him and Llorente could form a good partnership together.

Saw links with Negrado too. Would love to see the swans sign another striker and maybe play two up top like at the end of last season but I think you're right and it will be as a replacement for llorente

Yeah I was going to post about Negredo but forgot to in the end haha. Negredo would be a good signing imo, knows where the back of the net is and he is really the kind of striker that suits Swansea (like Bony, Gomis, Llorente etc.)

According to the South Wales evening post (which is very reliable for Swansea rumours), Jonathan Viera is seen as the replacement for Siggo. Apparently Las Palmas are asking for €30m.

Swansea sign 20 year old Cian Harries from Coventry. Never heard of him before but he's apparently highly rated. From what I read, he'll be in the U23s this season

He's a vital player for the swans. He has basically kept Swansea from relegation for the past two or three seasons and he really shouldn't be sold unless there is someone who can come in and make an instant impact (which is easier said than done). I don't understand why Swansea put a price on him really, you should be saying not for sale and playing hardball like RBL are doing with Liverpool. Cracking player and I'd be disappointed to see him leave but players come and go I guess.
One thing I've noticed though the last few years is that until November/Decemberish time he is awful then from that point on he's excellent. For an evertonian like yourself, I'd be a little concerned by the fact that he really struggled to make the step up at Spurs from Swansea a few years ago. I'm sure he will have learnt a lot since then but I think I remember ed001 saying (I may be wrong!) that Siggo rejected sides like Leicester and Everton last summer and that was partly down to the fact that he wanted to be the best player in a poor side rather than a standard player in a good side. Personally that would worry me slightly but I think he'll do well at Everton and I think he has matured a lot since his time at Spurs and over the past season even.

Any news of Swansea transfers in or out? Obviously sigurdsson looking likely to leave.

{Ed002's Note - Sigurdsson will go. I think Paul will look to Spain for a recruit or two yet.}

Who's being looked at as a replacement for Gylfi ed?

{Ed002's Note - After the great signing of Roque Mesa I think they will look to Spain again to see who is available. Expect a lot moire from Luciano Narsingh.}

16 Jul 2017 22:34:17
Thanks ed. You rate Mesa highly then?

{Ed002's Note - Mesa is very well thought of indeed.}

Hi ed,
Which clubs are interested in signing Siggurdsson?

{Ed002's Note - Swansea's Gylfi Sigurdsson made it clear he had no interest in the overtures of the likes of West Ham or Everton who were tentatively linked with the player in January 2017 but he will emerge as a target for Inter Milan in the summer. I would also suspect you may see interest from Roma if they lose out on Tielemans and, perhaps surprisingly, from Spurs.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Mar 2017 13:30:49
Thanks ed, seems quite ironic for Spurs to have interest in him

{Ed002's Note - Like Roma they have an interest in Tielemans and GS would be one of the options they could look to.}

Are swansea looking to strengthen in January at all? It's clear to see that reinforcements are needed.

{Ed001's Note - yes. Priority being a forward, with Giovinco of Toronto, Juanmi of Sociedad, Foriesteri of Wednesday and Berahino amongst ones that have come under consideration.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Dec 2016 19:41:23
Thanks ed, interesting to see Giovinco's name crop up. No thought of a new full back or centre back then?

{Ed001's Note - Bradley would love to make a lot of changes, but January is not the best time, Giovinco is out of season so is the most likely signing. I know there are a couple of other MLS players he is supposed to like as well, not sure who though.}

{Ed001's Note - a couple from the MLS he is supposed to be interested in (though a few people think he will want to bring his son in as well) are Dax McCarty (though he is 29) and Mauro Diaz. Both players are central midfielders though that is all I know about them really.}

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Dec 2016 22:43:47
Mauro Diaz would be an interesting one. What's your opinion on him ed?

{Ed001's Note - I don't know much about him mate, I have not seen any MLS this season.}

ED2 can you provide any reasoning behind over what happened with Enner VALENCIA? Also I read further down that you said Ayew to Swansea was a mistake? How so? Thanks again

{Ed002's Note - The Everton deal for Valencia was more attractive to West Ham as they want him off the books and tehre is a buy option at the end of the loan. The player could have forced a move to Swansea but he didn't. Andre Ayew did not want the move to Swansea but wanted a stepping tone to a different country and wanted to be playing at a higher profile side. He has never hidden his desire to play at a higher level - what swung it for Swansea was the €7M that was paid to him as a signing on fee.}

4 o'clock ed.

{Ed002's Note - There is some uncertainly surrounding Swansea which circles around what will happen with a couple of players – if the go then Swansea will need to look to replacements.

In hand and should be confirmed:
Fer (M) making his transfer permanent from QPR.
Van der Hoorn (CB) will complete his move from Ajax and this removes interest in Bolton’s Rob Holding.

In:
Joe Allen – A strong possibility but there will be a need to persuade the player that his future is in Swansea and not in Sevilla or any other clubs that come to the fore in the coming days and weeks. I don’t like Spain but I have been to Swansea and he may well be tempted by the Sangria and gazpacho manchego.
Bony – I think a return is possible but one driver might be an attempt by Manchester City to buy another striker after Nolito – they have a very high-end target in mind.

Looked at:
Sassuolo forward Gregoire Defrel has been watched by a number of sides including Crystal Palace, Swansea and Southampton from the Premier League. I don’t see a move to Swansea as likely right now.
Bristol City's Joe Bryan has been the subject of interest from Evereton for the past year or so with Stoke, Swansea, QPR and Southampton also having him watched this season.
Ajax, Swansea, Southampton and PSV have all scouted Chelsea's Todd Kane this season.
Hoffenheim and Sampdoria were disappointed with January rejections for Hakim Ziyech. Dortmund, Sunderland, Swansea and Leicester all looked to the Twente player who comes with a great deal of baggage. Fenerbahce are trying to strike a deal.}

Out:
Bartley will be joining Leeds on loan.
Britton is one of the uncertainties – right now I think he will move on but later in the window.
Sigurdsson is another uncertainty – Leicester would like him but the player wants to stay – we will see what happens later in the window.
Gomis – Marseille will return later this week with the best offer that they can for Gomis but they have internal issues that are hampering everything at the moment – it should go ahead and Marseille are aware that with the tour underway as of now it will be difficult to negotiate. But they are hopeful the lady says.
Ayew – another uncertainty and one who is looking to force a move away and I expect it will happen one way or another. Issues will be the money for Swansea and the location and standing of the buying club in respect of Champions League or Europa. The Swansea move was a mistake. What interest there is will likely not come to much (e.g. Sunderland) so this could drag on all window.}
