ED2 can you provide any reasoning behind over what happened with Enner VALENCIA? Also I read further down that you said Ayew to Swansea was a mistake? How so? Thanks again

{Ed002's Note - The Everton deal for Valencia was more attractive to West Ham as they want him off the books and tehre is a buy option at the end of the loan. The player could have forced a move to Swansea but he didn't. Andre Ayew did not want the move to Swansea but wanted a stepping tone to a different country and wanted to be playing at a higher profile side. He has never hidden his desire to play at a higher level - what swung it for Swansea was the €7M that was paid to him as a signing on fee.}

4 o'clock ed.

{Ed002's Note - There is some uncertainly surrounding Swansea which circles around what will happen with a couple of players – if the go then Swansea will need to look to replacements.

In hand and should be confirmed:
Fer (M) making his transfer permanent from QPR.
Van der Hoorn (CB) will complete his move from Ajax and this removes interest in Bolton’s Rob Holding.

In:
Joe Allen – A strong possibility but there will be a need to persuade the player that his future is in Swansea and not in Sevilla or any other clubs that come to the fore in the coming days and weeks. I don’t like Spain but I have been to Swansea and he may well be tempted by the Sangria and gazpacho manchego.
Bony – I think a return is possible but one driver might be an attempt by Manchester City to buy another striker after Nolito – they have a very high-end target in mind.

Looked at:
Sassuolo forward Gregoire Defrel has been watched by a number of sides including Crystal Palace, Swansea and Southampton from the Premier League. I don’t see a move to Swansea as likely right now.
Bristol City's Joe Bryan has been the subject of interest from Evereton for the past year or so with Stoke, Swansea, QPR and Southampton also having him watched this season.
Ajax, Swansea, Southampton and PSV have all scouted Chelsea's Todd Kane this season.
Hoffenheim and Sampdoria were disappointed with January rejections for Hakim Ziyech. Dortmund, Sunderland, Swansea and Leicester all looked to the Twente player who comes with a great deal of baggage. Fenerbahce are trying to strike a deal.}

Out:
Bartley will be joining Leeds on loan.
Britton is one of the uncertainties – right now I think he will move on but later in the window.
Sigurdsson is another uncertainty – Leicester would like him but the player wants to stay – we will see what happens later in the window.
Gomis – Marseille will return later this week with the best offer that they can for Gomis but they have internal issues that are hampering everything at the moment – it should go ahead and Marseille are aware that with the tour underway as of now it will be difficult to negotiate. But they are hopeful the lady says.
Ayew – another uncertainty and one who is looking to force a move away and I expect it will happen one way or another. Issues will be the money for Swansea and the location and standing of the buying club in respect of Champions League or Europa. The Swansea move was a mistake. What interest there is will likely not come to much (e.g. Sunderland) so this could drag on all window.}

Personally no after seeing the job he did at Liverpool. Also, he has very high wage demands. He showed at Liverpool and Reading that he can't change his tactics even when things are going badly. I think that Guidolin is a decent option to keep but I'd prefer Bielsa.

Hi ed, what news is there on ins and outs?
I seem to be the only person posting on this page sadly.

{Ed001's Note - the club are looking for a quick fix, just to stave off relegation and allow it to regroup in the summer. To that end, former players such as De Guzman and Allen are under consideration. The main thing being looked for is a forward, I am told an approach was made to find out if Berahino would be interested in a move, but he was not keen. That is all I know of right now, but I do expect at least a forward to arrive.

As for being the only one, don't worry, the more posts on here, the more likely it is to turn up in a search engine to someone else and they join in. Theoretically anyway! I will have a word with Benny who does the FB page to push this one when I next speak to him.}

Thanks ed, I think competition for places is a must because at the moment none of the players have any serious competition! Allen and De Guzman would be good additions imo.
Thanks for that ed, I appreciate it. I've liked the page already so I'll see if I can get some of my friends interested

Hi Ed, could we have a run down of who Swansea are interested in?
Also is there any update on the manager situation?
Many thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Certainly Swansea have looked at a number of players, whether anything can be done in January I don't know:

Unlikely: Everton, Southampton, Swansea, Sunderland and West Ham have all maintained an interest in Leeds' Sam Byram. Liverpool, Newcastle and Arsenal have had him watched but it is now Aston Villa who are making an active effort to bring Byram to the Premier League.

Very unlikely: Lorient left-back Raphael Guerreiro has been of previous interest to Newcastle, Milan, Arsenal, PSG, Manchester City and Sampdoria. Marseille, Liverpool, Sunderland and Swansea have had watched the player this season - whilst an Arsenal scout says they may look again.

Interest probably gone: Bordeaux's Wahbi Khazri has attracted the interest of several English clubs including Swansea (whose interest may have gone), Newcastle, Stoke and Everton (strenghthening) already this season. Previous interest from Roma, Fenerbahce and Sunderland has gone. Lille and Arsenal had the player watched but have no declared interest. Aston Villa are interested but may need to survive before anything could be done.

Very, very unlikely: New York RBs Matt Miazga has attracted scouts from a number of sides, including Chelsea, Swansea City, RB Leipzig and Stoke, but nobody has made an approach to the MLS about him.

If Swansea want it they can make it happen: Whilst Chievo don't want to sell in January they will not be in a position to stop Alberto Paloschi moving to Swansea or Bournemouth should they make a reasonable off (£5M-£7M or so) for the striker. Interest from Sassuolo has gone.

Possible: Whilst Crystal Palace and Swansea showed an interest in Loic Remy over the summer there are offers on the table from Spartak Moscow and St Et for a move in January. Chelsea will let him move on if a replacement can be found - ideally on a permanent basis. If not a loan to an EPL side such as Sansea or Newcastle will be an option. Interest of Lyon has gone.}

Manager: Bielsa (for reasons that are beyond me as he speaks very poor English and is volatile) seems to still be of interest. Gus wants the job but the club does not seem so keen. Morais is interested but probably not committed in the long term. Bobby di Matteo would in my view be thge answer and he is, I am told, keen.}

Marcelo Bielsa being said to be the main target for a manager. How true is this?

{Ed001's Note - no one knows as it is down to Huw Jenkins, but he is definitely in the running as he is interested. Your guess would be as good as anyone else's as to whether Jenkins would want to bring him in. Personally I desperately want Bielsa to manage in the Prem, so I really hope he does, though it would only be a short term option. Bielsa never lasts long anywhere, due to his extremely abrasive personality, but while he is there the football his teams produce is breathtaking attacking football that makes Leicester look defensive and afraid to go forward.}

I agree I've heard many things about Bielsa and his excellent football. I'd absolutely love to see Swansea play with a new attacking style! They want a manager in by the West Ham game so we should find out soon I suppose
